Patient Care Representative (Budtender) – Elevele – Highland Park, IL

Elevele is a medicinal cannabis dispensary located in Highland Park, IL. We created elevele to change the conversation on medicinal cannabis by listening to and focusing on individual patients needs. We’re creating a brand focused on simple, straightforward information and the highest quality products to create individual treatment plans for each patient. elevele will be among the safest facilities allowing patients to purchase a variety of products in a comfortable and supportive environment. Our staff will work with and listen to patients to help them customize their treatment plan, manage dosing frequency, monitor progress and ensure they are administering the proper medication to fit our patient’s specific needs.

Position Summary:

Assist patients in selecting the appropriate product for their needs. Responsible for being one of the product experts on duty at the store. One on one interaction with the patient from when they walk in the retail area until they check out with their purchase and exit the store. Compliance with applicable rules and regulations as implemented by the Department of Financial and Professional Responsibility (DFPR), and the Company.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for helping customers in the retail locations in accordance with Elevele’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives
  • Follow established policies for sales and customer service which ensure customer satisfaction
  • In-depth knowledge of every product and strain in the store.
  • Responsible for retail product knowledge so as to assist customers in making the right choices, such as:

knowing how different means of cannabis consumption affect our patients differently, good practice for suggesting dosage starting points and upward titration for inexperienced patients, familiarity with suggested cannabis treatments for qualifying conditions in Illinois.

  • Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, as well as customer service, including:
  • Correct cash handling and discount application;
  • Verifying proper paperwork, documentation and ID for patients;
  • Accurately use and maintain the Point Of Sale (POS) system; Accurate and timely data entry of patient profiles in both the POS system and Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program’s electronic verification system;
  • Maintenance of hard copy files (when required);
  • Assist in verifying order deliveries for accuracy; Security measures and safety compliance;
  • Store organization and cleanliness;
  • Managing the visitor log; Maintain open communication with the management team and other coworkers;
  • Report employee issues or patient situations.
  • Provide any necessary support to the management team to ensure retail store operations run smoothly, properly and in compliance with the applicable rules and regulations, including: daily activities, maintenance, as well as patient information for any reported issues and/or complaints.


  • Knowledge and consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge and adherence to the policies, procedures and goals of elevele Highland Park
  • Ability to learn and understand cannabinoids and the natural function of the endocannabinoid system in the human body.
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, management, patients, governmental agencies, community members and the general public.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; College Degree preferred.
  • Previous service or retail experience preferred;
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Must pass any and all required background checks, be approved by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s Medical Cannabis Pilot Program, and maintain good standing.

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 30 pounds (100 pounds with assistance), may include sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.
