The 2 star review is because of the staff, without them it would be 1 star.overview:-joints being sold as "1 g" that actually weigh 0.8 and have a .2 filter and paper.-all products that i have tried have been overpriced and way below the quality that i would expect from the "black market"there is no shortage they are price gouging-no quality control-not taking product photos (obviously not a good idea when youre trying to sell bad product)-having people wait inside together during a viral pandemic-requiring 4+ points of contact during a pandemicrest are covered below"prepare for disappointment" should be their motto. I'm not sure where to start but ill try my best. The first experience you have with Sunnyside is their online site, pretty simple and easy to use but lacking correct THC percentages, pictures (for obvious reasons that i will go into in this review), and if you're a returning customer you cant find your "loyalty" points online (can i afford what i want?).The very next part of your experience is to show up and wait in line (not sure if this has changed recently but the wait was inside with a bunch of people during a viral pandemic? how is this legal?) all for the process of checking your I.D once at the door and once again after you've gotten to the counter to get the receipt that basically says what you ordered on your phone on paper. After waiting you're asked to cross the street to go wait in a different line to which the goal is to check your I.D again. then you get inside, where they scan your I.D and wait in a smaller more indoor line . You are then allowed to enter. Once inside you get the counter, hand over your receipt and I.D ( 5 people who have had to stand within 2 ft and/or touch something I have touched at this point.) at which point your product is brought to the counter and has to be checked off by a manager before it can be sealed in a huge bright orange bag (that have more commonly become litter around the neighborhood than have served actual use as a bag) all for weed that has in my twenty or so experiences with Sunnyside been only once or twice (bought Aeriz and Grassroots not Cresco) the quality i expected while consistently leaving me feeling like I have been ripped off no matter how good it is (again 95% of the time I would have gotten better weed from the black market.) I'm not sure ill ever be able to trust Sunnyside or Cresco as they have consistently betrayed what I view to be moral business practices in an effort to increase profit despite the apparent harm it does to their clients and the community. Please exhaust any and all other options before choosing to spend your money here.read more

Consistently have bad experiences at this dispenary. There are multiple other dispensaries that are more deserving of patronage. It starts with the convoluted process of needing to go to a separate store to get a receipt (but not pay) to then walk across the street and go through the same process all over again. On multiple visits I have essentially been held up at both storefronts because they couldn't find an order. Additionally have placed an order online only to be told that the things I just ordered are no longer available even though they still exist on the website. What's the point of placing an order as a medical patient if it doesn't actually do anything? Still have to go to both storefronts, still are not guaranteed the thing you order, still have problems locating an order in the system (that may or may not exist in their inventory)read more

I am very dissatisfied. I am a loyal customer across all locations . I have noticed that when placing an order online thca % is considerably higher than is it when I get the actual product. I think I’m getting a product with say for example 26% thca then when I get the actual product and read the label it’s considerably lower like 17%. That is false advertisement and very misleading to customers. I questioned the sales rep about this. He agreed with me and said that it was a website issue. There was nothing he could do. Needless to say they didn’thave the product that I ordered so I just had to take whatever they had to best fit my needs. I left very disappointed and unsatisfied.read more

Overall: Last resort if your guy is not around. Frustratingly slow, senselessly expensive (FU city of Chicago). However, quite nice to have a store around the corner. Staff is real friendly.Price per 1/8 is similar to market. Price per oz is 6x b/c you just buy 8x 1/8's. Wait times for picking up your order IMHO seamed excessive. I suspect Chicago is the reason they have 4 cops, check ID 3 times and don't do bulk pricing (1/2 = 4x 1/8). "we're out of that" - website not well in sync with stock levels >> vastly extends time at register, each time. Suggests their inventory system may be giving them trouble.read more

Came from out of town to spend a long weekend with my bestie, we got there right at close; Audi and his coworker were amazing! Very friendly, professional, and speedy. The staff in the dispensary, including the security guys at the doors, were also friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. I think its a fun twist to have to go across the street to the actual dispensary after you check in with Audi, a little confusing at first, but fun in hindsight.read more

Be prepared to wait in line to wait in line to wait in line (sometimes outside in the sun) for Adult Use. I'm sure it's different on a weekday, but I'm usually only able to make there within the timeframes on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. For my most recent trip it was about 1 hour from getting in the first line to getting my product - which isn't too bad, but there's no communication on how long the wait is or prior knowledge if you're going to have to wait outside in the hot sun for 30 minutes. The staff in the waiting area across the street are usually pretty grouchy, but once you get to the actual dispensary, the security folks and staff are always in good spirits and generally very nice, communicative, and helpful!read more

Every single time I have had great experiences here. Follow the steps and call ahead for instructions for orders. I am a bit disappointed with the shifts in times of availability. However with high demand, unprecedented product, new product on the market, and new customers. It’s expected for these changes to occur. I hope that over time this will dissipate with consistent hours and products. High-ly recommendedread more

This is my least favorite dispensary in the city. I’m a medical patient and honestly have had a pretty terrible experience every time I shopped here. First off, their process to check-in is super annoying. You have to go to one building to check in, then cross the street to get to their other building to get your product. Once inside, it is an absolute cluster of people. Social distancing is out the window as they try to cram in as many people as possible. Also, they clearly favor their rec customers. As a medical patient, I had to wait substantially longer to check out because they only had 2 registers for medical- but had 3 or 4 for rec? This is my medicine- and I shouldn’t have to wait longer than recreational customers. Their prices are incredibly high too. Do not recommend.read more

Sunnyside in Uptown is Better that the one Downtown ( both are on Clark St.). just like the one downtown. You get your order verified at one location then go across the street to pick up your purchase. At downtown Sunny Google told you to go to one location you have to go down a block and a half to another location to check in and then you do the same thing in reverse to pick up product (pot) lots of legwork. and this location gives you loyalty points which is Great!there's a parking lot next-door (big lot) things move fast so you could just park your car there in about 10 minutes or less you'll be done and out. both places have their pros and cons, But I can say "I do recommend Sunnyside dispensary uptown". I absolutely love this place. I needed up her by accident. I used to go to D33, and I wish I never spent a dime there. From day one at Sunnyside I was treated with respect, and kindness. From security, to the folks that check you in I am always greeted with a smile and a “how you doin” I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Tony today. He called me sir (I have short hair because it came in thin after chemo) and when I gave him a hard time he was adorable. It’s not your fault, Tony! I smiled the whole time. He also made me aware of the rewards balance I had, and helped me apply it. I’m not surprised, as all of your staff is as friendly as him! Sunnyside is amazing. Please know that the compassion you show for medical patients is absolutely top notch. I will never change dispensaries again. Thank you, Sunnyside!read more

Nice place. Great selection with decent prices. Security guards are alright. Counter workers are fine. I've been here twice so far, going back today for my third time. I also like that it's in walking distance of my place and their online ordering system. Very convenient.Edit: Originally rated this place five stars. They should really specify the dosage of each gummy as opposed to just putting a dosage on the site with no clarification. I purchased what I though were 25mg gummies, but they turned out to be 5 gummies @ 5mg/ each. I wouldn't have wasted my money had I known that. I'm pretty disappointed. Buyer beware, I guess. Also they've been out of pre-rolls for almost a week now and I've had to go all of the way to the River North location on Hubbard.Their queue system and order windows leaves a lot to be desired. Give the customer some feedback instead of just "The order window is closed now, please try again later." Tell them when the next window is open or put them on a waiting list and tell your web developer to refine the UX. If they can't do it, I'm taking on contracts right now and would love to improve the usability of your website. I'm adult use, I can't even imagine how frustrated the medicinal patients are. Finally, the vibe of their facilities is overtly corporate and it makes me a little uncomfortable. The phrase "How do you do, fellow Millennials?" comes to mind when I step foot in this place. And that's only if I can ignore the excessive security protocols they have in place.Until I start to see more positive reviews, I think I'm going to travel the extra distance to a different dispensary.read more

Very disappointed. I made an order online, drove a good bit and went through the whole process of waiting in line and what not. First they couldn’t find my order, and asked if I was at the right place. Than when I was waiting I heard a woman complaining that they didn’t have what she ordered. They began to tell her it was a technical problem so they couldn’t do anything about it. She was not happy at all. It was my turn next and I knew I ordered the same thing. Turned out happened to me too. So I basically walked out. I understand the website sucked, but atleast compensate. I will not be returning.read more

Horrible customer service, and I’m a med patient. I placed an online order at 11am. Went to pick up around 3/4, drove 15 miles btw. I go inside, and was told by a heavy set dude that I have 0 grams available but they’ll work with me. Which in reality I never pass my limit, and had 30 grams available at the time. If you like your pot buying experience to feel like a trip to the DMV, then Sunnyside is the place for you. You will jump through hoop after hoop, wait up to 40 minutes (even though you've ordered ahead), have to show your ID at least 5 times, and IF you have the patience to make it up to the actual counter, there's no guarantee that they'll even have what you ordered! In my experience, it's pretty much impossible to reach someone either online or via phone. Doesn't matter if you're a medical customer or not. Selection is generally limited and I have also received inaccurate orders before (was not able to confirm items before purchase). With a "no returns" policy even for unopened packaging, inaccuracy for online/pick up orders is not just disappointing but unacceptable, especially when there are competitors available. Despite having employees who appear to "double check" all purchases, it's pretty clear they are just going through the motions. Makes you wonder what other corners are being cut. I recommend you shop elsewhere.read more

Without a doubt the absolutely worst dispensary experience I have ever had and I have visited here 10+ times since the beginning of 2020. Their counter reps aren’t even the slightest bit hospitable or friendly; security staff is fantastic and always pleasant, but the actual Sunnyside employees make it profoundly evident that they either A) do not want to be there or that B) you are an utter annoyance to them. Let alone dispensary’s; this is quite possibly the worst experience I’ve been a part of as a consumer. Yet I continue to give them my money; they shouldn’t be surprised once the IL market opens up much more than it already is - they will be losing customers in a mass exodus. At the very least, you should be pleasant and respectful to your customers; even more so when you charge ABSURD prices.read more

This place is a little disorganized, but I could have handled that if I felt at all safe going there. People in line had masks, but none of the workers inside did, or if they did, they were wearing them improperly under the nose. The spaces inside are very small, and for a store that sells to chronically ill people and who allegedly cares for their employees, they should be doing better to protect everyone. Masks only work if everyone wears them. I will not go back, and if you're concerned about being exposed, you shouldn't go there eitherread more

I would give them no stars if possible. Website states orders must be placed online before you arrive due to the corona situation. For 3 days I have items in my cart and checking the website every 30 minutes all the site says is that the online order window is closed but you can add items to the cart. Waited 2 days, never able to check out. Send an email to their customer service and I get back a copy and paste email stating that if I cannot check out by the end of the weekend to send them another email. For what I don’t know as I am sure they would not do anything about it. Been to Cali, Vegas, Colorado all those states do it significantly better than this place and in Illinois. There prices here are also more than normal street prices, which is not the case in the other states listed above. Brought my business to another shop and they were able to assist me in a timely fashion. And by my surprise that place had 4.8’stars. I can under stand why this place has 3 stars. Should be less than that. Tried calling them no answer either.read more

We arrived for the first time and the outside security guards were a bit brash (like, sorry your job is to tell people the same thing over and over, but you chose this life!). They use Aurelio's as a waiting area, we were directed there. The people inside were much more pleasant. We waited about 30 minutes but were told it would be 1.5 hours, so that's good crowd management. Menu is a bit limited but that's understandable when this is how you get products. You have to make it simple. Hopefully they will have more options when the process is better. Cresco is their supplier so everything is over-packaged (and you pay for that!) but high quality. The ppl are great. Execution was good given the huge restrictions they’re working with. But I will not be returning until they get supply sorted out. The $77 eighth I got was minuscule. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that it weighed but it was basically a $40 transaction on the black market. That’s what I can’t get past - the value I lost by shopping there (not to mention the 3+ hours in line). But I wanted to be a part of this historic moment. Maybe in a year or two things will be much better. Hopefully sooner. I saw that in Colorado they have $20 eighths (pretax).read more

First of all, we didn't mind about the waiting time and place at all.But instead we got twice extra pre-rolled than we asked for and added to that it was the wrong type of flower, we got "haze" instead of hybrid.I called her out about the quantity already, all she did was shrugged and put the orders inside the bag anyway. We found out later about the wrong type because the bag was already quickly "stapled".So this means it could have happened to the non-recreational, people with actual needs and would get the wrong medication.PS. Check your orders before passing the first door or as fast as you can. This is unacceptable with people trusts in their hands.read more

I arrived around 4:30, waited about an hour and a half outside to get into a room with a huge line still in front of me. There, we were told that we could only get a gram of flower (which I understand, but still) AND that it would "probably" be "about two hours" before we could get to the actual dispensary. It was all very smoothly run and everyone was nice but it would probably have been a good thing if they'd told us about the purchase limits and additional wait BEFORE we'd spent so long waiting outside. My advice is, wait a few months before stopping in unless you have time to kill. And pack a lunch. This is where we were told that we could only get a gram of flower at this stage (which I understand, but still) AND that it would "probably" be "about two hours" before we could get to the actual dispensary. It was all very smoothly run and everyone was nice but it would probably have been a good thing if they'd told us about the purchase limits and additional wait BEFORE we'd spent so long waiting outside. So, my advice is, wait for a few months before stopping in unless you have lots of free time. And pack a lunch.read more

My first experience was on Jan 1st. I joined the line and was one of the first 200 customers. I was very impressed with how well organized, prepared, and staffed they were given the circumstances. During our 40 min wait outside staff handed out free hand warmers in below freezing temps, and t shirts. Once inside the borrowed space next to the dispensary people in line were offered free coffee, hot chocolate, and pastries. The order form and copies of the menu were handed out and people were available to ask questions about the products and the ordering process. Although most people waited about 3 hours and in some cases even more the entire experience was overall manageable and not unbearable. Once inside the dispensary the guards scanning IDs were very polite and respectful. The cashiers were very friendly and helpful. Some items were already out of stock after only being open 3 hours but the suggested alternatives were just as good. The service was way above expectations given the chaos of being the first day and the volume of people who showed up. The price was fair compared to other dispensaries. Last but not least I’ve only been able to try the black cherry chocolate bar and it was very very good.read more

Best dispo in the city, hands down. Friendly staff and carefully picked product selection to optimize wellness. Gotta love the aesthetic of the place too. Very cozyread more

They used to have great selection of flower and good prices. Now only a few to choose from and only like 2 or 3 1/8’s. Rest are one grams and very expensive. You get 2 stars because I like the people that work there they are very nice. If it doesn’t get better soon there will be many more shops to choose from.read more

You should really let your customers know you are closed during normal business hours aside from a piece of paper on the front door. Hugely inconvenient and just sloppy business. Changing dispensaries today.read more

I'm becoming less enamored with this place. The selection of products is going down and they no longer sell flower in anything bigger than 1/8's which means I don't buy flower from them at all anymore. Discounts seem to have been totally eliminated, both the $25 rebate for every $500 spent and no more discounts on on-line orders, which is no great loss as the on-line menu rarely matches what's actually on hand, so I'm about ready to give that up; it's not faster, easier or cheaper for me, so why bother? I'm in the market for a new dispo, tbh.read more

questions about their facility go completely unanswered via email. Can't switch if you won't converse with clients!

Prices continue to rise and they removed online discounting which was enough to offset the cost when you spent enough. The staff is friendly and understanding, but the atmosphere always seems depressing compared to months before. I hope good changes are made soon.read more

They have amazing variety and huge selection in comparison to other menus I looked at when originally considering my dispensary. When I first started going there I would've rated it a 5; the staff were super personable and they regularly had great specials that always had me coming back. Now, the staff has completely changed and the specials aren't as good. Small free samples are a thing of the past and the items I liked are less available. It doesn't have as inviting of an atmosphere as it once had, and I'm not sure I can put my finger on one single thing. It's still good, but not the same medmar I once loved.read more
